During last summer vacation i happened to visit some famine striken villages of saurashtra and kutch. i was the leader of social service group of our school.we had decided to spend our vacation for the welfare of village peopleand cattle . due to the failure of rain the rivers,streams,tanks and wells had dried up.every where we saw the barren land.the condition of people in the villages was pitiful . the people and drinking water for many days.they had to live on leaves and roots of trees.people looked like skeletons.the cattle were looked after in the cattle camp. with the help of government carefully . the government had started relief work to fight out the famine.to face the scarcity of water trucks were rushed in with the water tankers. relief committees were collecting funds for the people and cattle . government had started relief work.we contributed a big amount in relief fund.we think that was a call of humanity.
