Introduction to the values and principles contained in the Bhagavad Gita as part of the harmonization of Indian Culture and Indian Knowledge System in National Education Policy 2020 in School Education.
This research requires students of state schools to become acquainted with the glorious heritage of Indian culture and to be proud of being Indian so that Indian culture is integrated in the daily life and school experiences of the students.
Indian culture and cognition should be incorporated in the school curriculum in a way that helps in the holistic development of the students. Resolution: National Education Policy-2020 Adult consideration on the above matters is finally decided as follows.
1. From the academic year 2022-23, school culture should include Indian culture and knowledge system. In the first phase, the values and principles contained in the Bhagavad Gita will be introduced in the schools of the state in Std. 6 to 12 according to the understanding and interest of the children.
2. Shrimad Bhagwad Gita will be introduced in Std. 6 to 8 in the form of story and recitation etc. Which will have to be evaluated.
3. Shrimad Bhagwad Gita will be introduced in Std. 9 to 12 in the form of story and recitation etc. in the first language textbook. Which will have to be evaluated.
4. Recitation of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita should be included in the prayer program.
5. Various competitions and creative activities like Shlokgan, Shlokpurti, Vaktrutva, Nibandh, Natya, Chitra, Quiz etc. should be organized in schools based on Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta.
6. The main literature / study material for Std. 6 to 8 (Printed, Audio - Visual etc.) should be prepared by Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT), Gandhinagar.

7. The main literature study material for Std. 9 to 12 (Printed, Audio - Visual etc.) should be prepared by Gujarat State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GSHSEB), Gandhinagar.
8. Printing and distribution of the said literature / study material shall be done by Gujarat State School Textbook Board, Gandhinagar.
